Question : Why does this 6.3-quart pot require so much more heat to stay in the green zone than the same pot in 4.8-quart size?
Answer : There is actually not more heat needed, it's only that the high heat has to be applied for a longer time because there is more volume to heat up. Please remind the customer that in order to start the pressure cooking process, the pressure cooker has to be heated up on maximum heat until the pressure cooker locks up and the pressure indicator starts to rise, then is the right time to lower the heat to a low/medium setting. This procedure does not depend on pressure cooker size. The time for how long it takes for the pressure cooker to lock up and pressurize depends on volume but also on the type of food that is pressure cooked.
