YES. Your model 69 is an L frame - round butt firearm. They were a perfect fit for 686+P L frame. Excellent grip (for my average hand) with .357 Mag.

Does this grip fit the s&w governor well or sloppy???

The Governor is a Z frame (stretched N) with a K frame grip. Any K/L frame, in theory, should be a comparable fit. I know my grips are fitted between several models because they are all K/L frames. Must know is square or round butt.

So these are square butt conversion grips for my smith 686 round butt?

That is correct. They are for round butt K and L frames. 686 is an L-Frame. Bought these as a gift for a friend: they are attractive.
