The blade is straight, but the quality is great, and if you apply a good technique, you won't see any visible lap marks on the finished surface. One of the best things about this skimming blade is that it's very easy to use. All you need to do is mix up some compound and use three different sizes of blade (starting with an 18-inch blade, then moving up to a 24-inch blade, and finally a 32-inch blade) to build up any dips or bumps in the surface of your sheetrock. Once you've applied the compound, just drag the blade over the surface to create a smooth finish that requires minimal sanding. This is particularly useful if you're repairing areas of drywall that have been damaged by storm or water damage.
