I don't know for sure but like anything else that draws a small amount of current, if it's used several times a day then it won't last as long as say the guy who checks his tyres once a month. I would guess at least 12 months with reasonable use.

Dead easy! Switch guage on. Then just put the pin end over the tyre tread and press the blue end gently until it stops. You can then read the tread depth on the guage. It's best to try a few readings over the tyre to check for uneven wear.

You should check you tyres each week ensuring they are at the correct pressure, and check the depth in between servicing. The garage that services your vehicle should also check your tyre depth & pressure as well at each service. It is good practice to keep your tyres in good condition.
