According to the description alkaline 2AA batteries will work just fine. I'm currently using the Panasonic Eneloop AA.

Can the batteries be recharged on the controller charging station or do they have to be charged on a separate charger?

Maybe but probly not, it wouldnt be good for them if they could anyway, shorter life. In my experience its better to buy separate battery packs meant for recharging but nowadays thats harder said than done. Most rechargable sets ive bought are terrible right outta the box. My advise to anyone and what i did was make sure you buy a recharge pack with a micro usb port on the pack itself!

Is the battery pack for any wireless remote for x box 360?

It has worked for my black Wireless Xbox 360 remote, and several other standard white Xbox 360 remotes. They fit great, hold the batteries tight and feel like a decent quality. I would certainly recommend these! That being said, these are for Xbox 360 remotes, unsure if they would work for Xbox One remotes.

You get 2 battery packs that hold 2 AA batteries. Batteries not included of course.
