The base is red, and the glass is clear. Thereâ€™s some red writing on the glass. I have not seen a beige one.

No, this feeder does not keep bees away. It attracts more bees than my other 3 feeders. I would not recommend it if you're buying to keep bees away.

How high off ground does feeder have to be?

Audubon Society might be the best source for that info but I believe 5 feet is what I remember (from somewhere), probably for their safety. Other feeders are 4 and 5 feet.

Is there a metal replacement base available?

The glass bottle has a ring of metal around it. The base is red plastic. You may boil the sugar water in a measuring cup and add it to the bottle when cool.

Is it possible to buy a replacement bottle only?

No, this is a bottle with a screw on/off feeder tray. It is very easy to clean and is the absolute best hummingbird feeder on the market.

The Birds Choice Best-1 32oz. Hummingbird Feeder is a clear glass bottle featuring a red plastic base with small feeding ports. This feeder is easy to clean as the plastic base can be taken apart and cleaned with hot soapy water using a bottle brush. A port brush or pipe cleaner is used to clean the feeding ports. While the replacement bottle is not available, the base and ring are easily replaceable. The narrow bottle opening makes cleaning tricky but can be done easily with a narrow bottle brush. The glass bottle is sturdy in the wind and the desert sun. The feeder attracts bees and yellow jackets, and the holes in the feeder are too small for bee guards. Reception:
