It’s fairly thick, but very, very soft. I would not recommend this knife. Spend a little more and get a better quality knife. I ended up getting a Stanley 10-049 which has replaceable blades, though I’ve had mine for over a year and the original blade is still great, with a couple sharpening.

Could this be used for wood turning also?

As long as you are using it only for marking and not actually removing material it should work fine.
