How do I know if it will fit?

If you have a 15.6" screen and an HP 250 G5 then it will "fit" but disassemble your broken one to see if you have the old style 40 pin connector or the newer 30 pin. I have dozens of these laptops all bought in the last couple years and they all have the 30 pin.

Is this lcd matte or glossy finish?

The one we received is more of a satin - not quite matte but definitely not super glossy.
