Cabot 140.0019400.007 Australian Timber Oil Water Reducible Stain is a great product for anyone looking for an easy to use water-based timber oil. The application of this timber oil is simple and the results are excellent, with rainwater beading on top of the wood instead of soaking into it. There are two versions of this product, one using paint thinner for brush clean-up and the other using mineral spirits. The water-based version holds up better in humid or climates that get lots of rainfall, while the oil-based version holds up better in dry climates. If you're unsure about which version to use then just test an inConspicuous area first to see how it responds.
