This is the same product as the SKY-1001. Both products are made by SkyTech, the only difference is the product branding.

How long does the receiver battery last not the remote the receiver?

The receiver uses 4 AA Batteries. They could last a couple years but we recommend taking them out of the unit during the summer while not in use to avoid corrosion.

How do you know what Pilot you have?

If you know the Model burner assembly you have, and also what gas, Nat or LP, send me the M# and I can help you find the right one. If you have a parts breakdown, the pilot assy should be on it. Replace the whole thing.

Will this product work as a substitute for the Skytech 1001-A?

Yes, this will work as a replacement. Skytech actually manufacturers these and brands them as Peterson. The 1001-A and RR-1A are the same product, just branded differently. The model number on the actual product is the 1001-A no matter which one you purchase.

Is there a variable remote for the Peterson G21 18?

There is not a remote that does this.

Does this come with remote and box?

I only got the remote control. It did not come with a box.

Does this come with hardware to wall mount the remote?

Yes it does. It will come with the wall plate and mounting hardware.

RealFyre Remote, Basic System

The RealFyre Remote Basic System is a replacement remote control unit designed for gas fireplaces. Though its functionality is limited to switching the fireplace on or off, it is a viable substitute for the Skytech 3301 model. It uses four AA batteries and may last for years, provided that the batteries are removed from the unit during the summer to avoid corrosion. The remote control is compatible with Skytech 1001, which is the same product as Peterson RR-1A. Installation is easy, but some users complained about the tight spade terminal connection between the remote and ignition module.
