The RealFyre Remote Basic System is a replacement remote control unit designed for gas fireplaces. Though its functionality is limited to switching the fireplace on or off, it is a viable substitute for the Skytech 3301 model. It uses four AA batteries and may last for years, provided that the batteries are removed from the unit during the summer to avoid corrosion. The remote control is compatible with Skytech 1001, which is the same product as Peterson RR-1A. Installation is easy, but some users complained about the tight spade terminal connection between the remote and ignition module. Although it generally works, some customers reported issues with product quality and compatibility.
