Will it fit a Martin Backpacker guitar...?

Yes it will fit...it might close a little hard, but the guitar will make plenty of room as it crushes into little pieces.

Will this fit a 47" scoped air rifle?

My sons 47 has a small scope on it and it fits perfectly. However for bigger scopes you may have to remove the scope. There is plenty of extra space so the scope can fit inside the case but the size of scope will depend on if you can keep it on the gun or not.

Is this case airline approved?

Airline approved revolves around having a lockable case.

What is the narrowest inside diameter of this box I cant have any inside diameter narrower that 11 inches? thanks

This is huge, the least is at the very end, and about 11 1/2 inch.

Will a shotgun measuring 51-1/2" from butt to end of barrel fit?

I would say yes. This case measures about 51.5" from end to end on the inside. I suppose it will fit your shotgun if you lay it diagonally.

Product dimension is listed as 42", interior as 52" what am I reading wrong?

I measured mine and outside dimension is 53 inches and inside is 51 1/2 inches. Must be a typo.

Will a Gamo Socom 1250 with 3*9 scope (big scope) fit in this?

My full size Mosin Nagant with a 50mm scope in an Archangel stock fits in it. With 2 10Rd magazines. It is tight, but it fits. Hope that helps.
