However, several customers have pointed out that it is actually just a standard USB to USB Mini cable and not a console cable. It does not have an FTDI chip or a FT232 chip, making it incompatible with Cisco products. This has been a disappointment for customers who were specifically looking for a Cisco console cable. On the other hand, those who have used it for other purposes, such as switch configuration or connecting to Windows devices, have found it to work well. The cable itself is sturdy and of good quality. It would be beneficial if it were available in longer lengths. Overall, the compatibility issues with Cisco products make this cable a letdown for customers who need a true console cable.
