We have not experienced this problem however I would recommend that you should be certain that the laces are set completely into the cleat, also make sure the laces are tight enough to prevent the foot and ankle to be secure and evenly supported but not over tightened.

Where can I send my skates for repair if the pin has broken within a month of purchase?

A lot of the ice-skating rinks have pro shops within them where they can do repairs. Please check if you have a local ice rink and if it has a service inside of it. If you are on the East Coast, there are several really good people in the Maryland and Virginia area. Those are the only ones I am familiar with.
