The product is easy to use, functional and comes with several ways to attach it to waders or a tackle pack. It is made of small diameter woven cord and does not kink easily. However, it does not lock in the extended position, but it does have a lock to hold it at the hip when the staff is deployed. The end can clip into a Simms wading staff.
