No you should have shoe climbing spikes for grip . With no branches to hold on to it will be difficult. You need something to keep your feet from slipping.

I can fit any waist size. It has enough slack to be adjusted

You thread the flat end of the belt under the wheel closer to your body. You pull the belt through under the wheel and loop it over the wheel to send it back through the buckle on the opposite side of the wheel. When you are done, the belt should go through the buckle under one side of the wheel, wrap around the wheel and go back over the other side of the wheel through the other side of the buckle. I hope this helps.

Will this work for 26” waist size?

It should be fine. I am size 36 waist and the length of the tie gave me almost no room to lean back so this should fit you better.
