The ART USB Dual Pre Two Channel PreamplifierComputer Interface USBDUALPREPS is a versatile and compact device ideal for recording purposes. It has two XLR inputs, two 1/4" jacks in the center of each input that can handle a guitar, and phantom power which can be switched off for use with a dynamic microphone. The low-latency drivers built-in to Linux makes it easy to use with Ubuntu and Kubuntu. However, this unit does not "mix" the inputs via the USB input, and it does not do so via the headphone/line outs. The balance control settings must be adjusted within the user's recording software. The device can be powered via USB, through an optional AC adapter, or a 9 volt battery.
