Why are #36 1lb and #36 1/2lb the exact same price?

Products go on sale from time time letting you get a good deal. Most likely different retailers are seeking for different prices based on how successful they have been so far this year. Capitalism is based on the accidents of recent history - sometimes the retailers get to charge exorbitant prices and other times that take a loss. If we are lucky as consumers, sometimes we get great deals.

Tacky yes sticky no, I can straighten out 3 inches and then the slight weight will slowly start to bend from were am holding it. Also when I gut this with a knife I do not burn the ends it stays together nicely without unraveling from what I have left it has aged well in sun and water and right now mine when I unwind it is not as tacky as when I first received it over a year ago.

I bought 2 sizes and measured both (as the manufacturer does not give a diameter measurement) the size 48 is about 2mm thick and the size 72 about 3mm.

Do thay use coal tar or wood tar to coat the string?

sorry no idea. Just a thought coal is made from wood.

Is this genuine catahoula manufacturing brand? i do not see their label in the pictures, so i have to wonder.

Why it’s necessary to have a „tarred“ line? Can someone guide me please?

Tarred line will not slip, the tar acts as sort of glue so knots and bindings are more secure.

work well for bow string?

I would not use it for a bow string.
