We bought this for 2018 Mazda CX five touring and it fits Great! I’m sorry I cannot advise you on the 2016 model though.

On a 2018 mazda cx 5 does it protect the ledge of the bumper. Im disabled and im denting the vehicle trying to get rollator into suv.

It protects the flat surface of the bumper, it does not lap over the edge.
