The Marie Hold Open Door Closer is a reasonably priced automatic door closer that works well for both residential and commercial light doors. It is easy to install and has adjustable speed and dampening features. The hold-open angle can be adjusted to stay open at 90 degrees or more. The product has a 3" recess and works well while keeping the door from slamming shut, which results in fewer injuries. Despite its benefits, there are a few Cons to the product, including the fact that it is hard to install on a left open parallel door, and the closing force is almost twice the expected force, making it difficult for children to open the door. The instructions are terrible and do not match the installation process. The arm extends out, causing it to bounce upward and contact the top door trim, so the user should be careful while installing it. Despite these drawbacks, the Marie Hold Open Door Closer is an excellent addition to any door, as it is a quality product that delivers and enhances the door functionality.
