Thank you for the question! Because of special formula of the product, you should not add essential oil. Turn the reed sticks upside down for the first 24 hours to speed up the wicking process. The more reeds you add to the mixture, the stronger the scent.

It does not include harsh chemicals and can be used for aromatherapy purposes as well. Turning reeds upside down every once in a while increases the scent's longevity, and the diffuser looks like it will last for months.
