As an electrical engineer, I do not recommend bending a ferrule, regardless of length. Consider a crimp spade connector or ring terminal for your application instead of a ferrule.

What is the size of the aperture when fully open? Could this be used for small ring/spade terminals?

No this crimper isn’t designed for small ring/ spade terminals. You need different style of crimper tool and dies. WireFy crimper and die set I recently purchased is very inexpensive and has multiple dies for various connectors.

Which connectors are compatible with this tool?

Hi Thomas S, Unfortunately the AWG (American Wire Gauge system) is a confusing (and non-linear) system to work in. The claim of this tool being able to handle a Ferrule of 6mm represents a cross sectional area (with units of square millimeters). According to a table on AWG in Wikipedia, a AWG-10 wire has a cross sectional area of 5.26(square mm) which will fit into the 6(square mm) Ferrule. An AWG-6 wire has a diameter about 60% larger than an AWG-10 wire and a cross sectional area about 2.5 times as large (at 13.3 (square mm)). Hope this helps un-confuse.

I need a tool that will crimp 10 and 12 gauge wires. Will this hold up?

Yes. I spent last week crimping 12 gauge ferrules with no issues.

Can this be used to enlarge 22ga wires so that they can be crimped into a red (18ga) ring terminal?

I do not see why you could not do that. The crimper works very well and holds the wire very tight.

Will this work to wire up a car amplifier?

Yes, it can. Please pay attention to the specifications.

Can you connect two wires together with this?

If you can fit the wires in the ferrule you can crimp them together.

Can I use these on 0 gauge wire for my amp. 3000 watts?

No tool is made for much smaller wire.
