Will this measure moisture through marble and backer board? I think I may have a leak behind it. Thank you!

It should but be aware that if there is anything metallic or conductive behind the marble/backer board and within the measuring depth, it will display 99.9% humidity. Use a dry piece of wood to limit the depth of what you want to measure and run several tests with different configurations to understand how this tool works.

Can this measure through epdm?

No this will not work with fiberglass. It is designed to work on wood and building materials (drywall and plaster).

Will it measure ambient relative humidity as well?

It cannot measure ambient relative humidity. Water vapor has no electrically measurable properties.

The Extech MO257 Pinless Moisture Meter is a versatile tool used to measure the relative moisture content of various building materials like wood, drywall, plaster, and carpeting using non-invasive Pinless Technology. This tool is perfect for pinpointing the source of moisture damage or checking for proper moisture levels before painting, sealing or installing floors. It displays relative moisture level in the form of %humidity on the screen and has a range of .78-1.6 inches. The moisture meter comes with a pouch case and three AA batteries to power it.
