Opened a sealed bottle two weeks ago and I cut into one of the blocks I just made tonight and saw bug larvae... is this normal? Part of ingredients??

I believe soldier fly larvae are part of the ingredients. I have had one or two “lumps” show up in the mixture too. Fish haven’t minded them.

Yes, it's a great food to use until water gets down to the 50 degree range.

Can I make this so it doesn't cloud my water? (Am I doing something wrong?)

Mine was cloudy the first few times I made it. I found that I wasn't using hot enough water. It was to be boiling hot right off the stove and sometimes I nuke it for another 10-15 secs. That seems to make it gel better and when it cools it doesn’t cloud the water anymore.

Once mixed, do you store sealed in fridge (as it says here) or store vented in fridge (like it says on jar I bought)?

Store it covered with a paper towel in the fridge after pouring into a small ice cube tray.

Is this a suitable food for pearl scale goldfish?

This is suitable for all fancy breeds. It is excellent for your pearl scale. It is also balanced nutrition and way healthier than pellets.
