My cat5 cable plug will not click into the neoteck hdmi extender properly, are rj45 plugs different sizes.

Standard Cat cable with RJ45 plugs should work fine. Ensure that you are using at least Cat6 cable. If using a different model of extender, make sure you have properly fitted the plugs.
