How do I cook rice in the 2L pot?

Same finger mark if water. On high until water reduces. Then low for 5 minutes. I use a chopstick to fluff up the rice and turn of heat. Ready in another 5 minutes. Don't walk away. Otherwise use a rice cooker. This way, you don't have to watch it. Great for making claypot style rice.

Does the rice come out good (i.e. not burnt or mushy)?

Yes, if cooked using the above mentioned steps carefully, rice will come out good and not burnt or mushy.
