Anyone tried these for soft illumination of footwells that would go on with interior lights when door is opened and closed?

I installed the light bolt down wash lights in my Land Cruiser interior. Look nice but not an area light, great for night time and just enough.

Is the 'white' a true 'daylight white', or is it more of a cool or warm white?

The color temperature is about 9000k which is considered Cool White.

Will this work with a 3v power input??

No. the description states 12v power source. If it lights up at all with 3v, it will be dim.

Can it be seen if not viewing directly from front/straight on? Can I be off to the side somewhat and still see the light. It looks recessed.

Yes. I have them as indicator lights on my motorcycle. They illuminate a nice area.

Are these lights cool to touch?

Yes. They seem to be cool to touch. The ones I use in my 'travel' vehicle are wired as INDICATOR lights, and run sometimes continuously for 8-hours at a time.

Is this item polarity sensitive? I'd like to be able to use it in a positive ground (instead of negative ground) circuit.

All Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are polarity sensitive. Diodes allow current to flow only one direction by design. It should still work for your application. The anode side (+) would go to ground and the cathode side to the (-).

Can these be daisy chained together say 6 total to a relay to provide floor light

Yes, you can certainly wire 6 (or virtually any number...) together in parallel, not series. Just hook them up to a 12 volt power source and you're good to go.

This is a .144 watt LED. The formula is power = Amperage x voltage. 12 milliamperes x 12 VDC or .012 amps x 12 volts = .144 watts..

Are these bright enough but not too bright to use as overhead always on down-wash lights in a vehicle at night?

Yes, but it's of course subjective.
