Yes, the chuck can be unscrewed. The chuck is screwed on finger tight to a brass nipple protruding from the gauge, with an o-ring for sealing. The knurled part can also be unscrewed from the chuck, also finger tight. The gauge has been working fine for me.

If the chuck can be unscrewed, then could I replace it with a presta chuck?

No, the existing chuck has a one-way valve with a pressure release.

Can it screw on the valve?

No, it does not screw onto the valve, just press.

The Accu-Gage Tire Pressure Gauge is a reliable, accurate and well-made gauge available at a reasonable price. It accurately measures air pressure, comes with a protective rubber cover and is easy to read. It holds pressure, so users have a chance to focus on the dial, and the black molded cover feels comfortable in hand when in use. Its readings are always within 1 psi of the readings on the information system of cars, and it provides accurate readings. However, some users have noted that the low-pressure tire gauge may not be calibrated precisely, with the first reading being 2.25 rather than 2. It is most suitable for standard car and truck valves (Schrader valves), and any attempt to unscrew or replace its chuck with a presta chuck is not recommended.
