The J-Tech Digital ProAV HDMI Extender is a highly recommended product that offers excellent audio and video quality with minimal delay. It takes in multi-channel, Dolby, and DTS audio as input but plays only 2-channel audio on the receiving end. The product supports MJPEG 2000 video compression, resulting in low delay, but Consumes higher network bandwidth utilization. Moreover, the device generates multicast traffic, which can bring down an unmanaged switch or flood every device and port on the network. The video mode isn't configurable and multicast cannot be turned off, making it unsuitable for point-to-point use. However, for point-to-multipoint video distribution, multicast is helpful. The package includes one transmitter and one receiver and is designed to convert HDMI signals to standard TCP/IP for transmission over the internet or LAN. The device is compatible with all plug-in IR transmitters and receivers.
