I find that the grinder is very easy to clean! I use a small rubber spatula for cleaning in and around the blades, which does a fine job and saves the fingers!

Hopefully I can use it for my Indian spices. Indian spices and Mexican spices.

No. It has a sensor that shuts down the motor if you put seeds in.

Will this unit grind sea salt & is it recommended?

I did not try to grind sea salt, but I did try peanuts to try to make peanut butter. It was not good since I did not grind evenly. It was disappointing.

Can this grind hemp hearts?

Each morning I typically grind flax seeds and Chia seeds for about eight seconds and then I toss it in my hemp hearts for about another five seconds because they are softer than the other seeds. So my harder seeds get about 12 seconds of grinding and my hemp gets about five seconds.

Does it grind poppy seeds?

This powerful little machine will grind any seed into powder and possibly my Rolex watch. Word of caution: To operate one must press the top part down. To stop simply release pressure. Just do not lift the top before the blades come to a complete stop (about two seconds) Lift the top while the motor is slowing down will guarantee an impressive mess on your countertop. It seems I must learn everything the hard way. Please do not use this to grind coffee. The coffee fragrance is tough to eliminate. Just use this for dry grains, seeds, and nuts.

There is nothing on the actual grinder that says where it is made. However, on the bottom of the box it came in it says "Made and printed in China". You could try contacting Conair Corporation, East Windsor, New Jersey to confirm that information. I had an issue with the first grinder I bought, but it was easily replaced. The new one has been working for over two years!

Does it come with a solid storage lid for the cup?

Mine came with a sealable, Tupperware-style storage lid. I LOVE this spice grinder!!!

Can I grind flax seeds with this?

Yes, I do grind flaxseed with this grinder.
