Use this to make knife handles but I still play and yes some would make picks. If you do let me know I would love to buy some as they would be beautiful. I use thin so the question is how thin you can go without them breaking lol.

Is this wood stained, or does it come in its natural color?

It does not come stained. They are natural colors. Purpleheart will need to be treated with UV protective finish to maintain the color however.
