The Optical Meter can test the light's strength coming from another Switch/Router/Media Converter. The Ethernet testing features allow checking for connectivity, providing speed, duplex, etc. and whether the copper contact on the termination is correctly made. The tool can show real-time length, which is quite accurate but depends on the cable quality. The product comes handy for a quick testing, especially when the name-brand competition products are in the thousands of dollars price range.
