You can tune it however you want. I buy the baritone ukulele set of strings and tune it just like the guitar 4 high strings: EBGD, but you can also tune it like the concert ukulele with the strings: AECG (high G).

Does this have a high D string or a low D string?

The BUB (baritone Ukulele Banjo is strung just like the 4 high strings of the guitar. from high to low. unlike the concert ukulele which has a 4th string high G.
