The non-magnetic one is not sticky but has a foam pad which raises the guide slightly off the stone and makes it wobble. It does not stick to anything. You can remove the foam pad for a better experience.

For camping or hunting knives, sharpen it to 25 degrees. You can start with the 17 degree angle then move to 20 and finally use the 25 degree angle for better sharpness.
