Yes, CO2 is needed to remove the liquid from the keg. The CO2 does a couple of things. First, it keeps the beer carbonated and second, it provides the pressure you need to push the beer out of the keg and into your glass. Make sure you have enough tubing on the beer side so that you don’t get a lot of foam.

Can I use this with no co2 or hose? I just want to buy a keg for a party.

Not possible. If the hose and faucet are not used, beer will be sprayed out of the top of the coupler uncontrollably. Besides once the carbonation diminishes in the keg not only will the beer no longer flow but it will go flat.

How to disinfect for the first use?

Disinfect with disinfectant first, then rinse with clean water.

Is this for Guinness beer?

I don't think you can use for Guinness , I think Guiness has it's own unique tap. In general I believe you need a European sanky tap for European brew

Does this fit 1/6 keg?

Yes. It will fit most commercial kegs with sankey valves.

Does the coupler contain lead?

This is made of stainless steel and does not contain lead.

Is the barb tailpiece that goes to the beer line stainless steel or chrome plated brass?

It is all stainless. It is really designed for 1/4” tubing. Getting 3/16” EVA tubing in there was difficult.
