Samsung LTE watches use eSIM technology which means it basically clones the SIM data from your actual phone and then uses that information to make/receive calls and texts right from the watch. You just have to pair it with you provider's network. I can't speak to any other provide so be sure that your provider supports eSIM technology.

Does the watch have its own GPS or does it have to link to the phone?

It starts after 10 minutes of any activity. The GPS module is always on unless you turn it off.

Will this be able to use any 22mm watch band?

Bought my 46mm BT with a $13 silver band for $283. Not sure why prices are inflated om a product a year old now. The $13 band is really nice too. Looks like I got a watch from Kay or whatever.

Can I pair this watch with iPhone?

Yes, but to put it simply; Apple and Android in general don't normally get along. While Apple has contracted Samsung to make screens for the iPhone, you're still going to get best performance with an Apple Watch and an iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy S9 (or better) and this smart watch.

Can you make and receive calls with an non-LTE version as long as its paired with your phone?

If your watch connected via Bluetooth with your phone you can do it...

The 46mm size. Is that the diameter of the glass (crystal) or the overall diameter of the watch body?

Per Samsung the dimensions for the case are 46mm x 49mm and the display size is 32.9mm
