The 2 lbs Rock Tumbler Grit is a perfect media grit that works with any rock tumbler, rock polisher, or stone polisher. It is a coarse 6090 silicon carbide grit that is used as step 1 grit for tumbling stones. Although it varies per batch number, this grit lasts for about 28 to 32 batches. The product does not come with directions, but one tablespoon per batch is enough with lesser amounts in steps 3 and 4. This grit mixed with enough small pieces of rock, ceramic, or plastic pellets can give a glassy shine to rocks, but some rocks can never get a glassy shine. To use this product, search for step four grit that is available in 2-5lbs or use aluminum oxide. Customer Experience and Reception: The product has received mixed reviews from customers. Some customers found the product useful for their rock tumbler and even got a glassy shine in their rocks. They recommend it as a great product at a great price. However, some customers said that the grit did not last very long, and they needed to add more, and some said that the product broke down in 2-3 days. One customer used over half of the container for two weeks and did not notice any polishing. Another customer warned that chemists should not buy this rock powder.
