Yes it is extremely easy to pick. It's a 2 'pin' wafer lock, so essentially it is the lock that most filing cabinets used in the 1930's. I picked it in a few seconds but someone with a flathead screwdriver could open it even faster. You are 100% reliant on the physical look/construction as a deterrent.

I bought one of them a couple months ago and had to return it because the coupler lock was too short. Do I need the 2 5/16?

Doesn't matter! Mine was not wide enough even though it was under 4'. Misleading measurements!!!!!! Mine was also for 2 5/16.

Everything else they have is made in China, guessing this is too.

Does this work with the wider latches, one review/video shows the smaller lock screws together with the key, making it seem like it can accommodate?

The adjustable lock will work with different thicknesses of latches.

This a different type of key in each lock. I really don't think you can the tongue key to be the same as the adjustable pin lock.

What's the difference between the two models?

One is for a 2 inch ball and one for a 2 5/16 ba

I'm sure these can be keyed alik

It is not ball size specific. It is however cheap pot metal. Just an FYI...
