How short can the handle be made?

I cut the strap to my length then made new holes. It was way to long for me the way it came. I love the purse. Have a lot of complaints about it.

Are inside compartments roomy enough for a full size wallet, small makeup bag, ect... or is it a tight fit?

Their is a lot of room inside. And easy to keep organized.
