It works well with .023 and gas for thin metal.

Can you adapt this machine to use the larger 33lbs or even a 44lbs roll of wire?

The largest roll of wire that would fit inside the welder is a 11 pound reel. The welder is a small size unit. It works great for all my needs on steel and aluminum.

Can this use flux coated MIG wire?

Yes gas or flx core. Remember to change the positive and ground connections. Very easy. And has a great photo chart to follow.

The PrimeWeld MIG180 Mig Welder is a dual voltage 220v/110v wire feed welding machine that is suitable for welding steel and aluminum. It comes with one grooved and one flat roller that can accommodate wire sizes from .025 to .040. It is also able to use flux-cored wire and comes with a spoolgun as well as gas regulator and hose. The machine has good quality components and is easy to set up. Users of this machine have successfully welded 20-22 ga sheet metal, 3/8 mild steel, 11 gauge and 3/16" carbon among others. The machine is small-sized and suitable for mobile use. It comes with a good warranty and has excellent customer service. However, the welds produced may not be as uniform as those made by more expensive models like the Lincoln 180.
