Mini plug cord is about 5 feet. But either the input jack or the mini plug cord is faulty. Not a good connection. I use it with TV and had to switch to digital input and cable. Also, the unit turns itself off if not processing audio for a while.

You can attach the speaker anywhere on your monitor (or anyplace else that has a lip on it as it just clips on). If it can only be plugged onto the left side of your monitor for some reason, there may be an adapter that allows you to plug in a usb and then has the usb-c on the other end? Probably Best Buy or other tech store can help you out with that.

Would this work on a factory car DVD player so the whole car can hear?

It probably will not work. It needs a USB audio source, which most cars to do not have.

My monitor doesn't have speakers will this still work?

If your monitor is less than 1.25 inches thick and has a place 3.75 inches wide the mounting bracket will open wide enough to your mount. The bracket is fairly strong and will hold on a thin monitor. The speaker can also sit stand alone on a desk with being mounted.
