If my iphone is connected to the k9p via usb and my sony xm4s connected to the k9p, would i be using ldac or aac?

Ldac and aac are Bluetooth codecs. I don’t believe you can connect Bluetooth headphones to the K9 pro. So most likely it would connect directly to your iPhone in which case it will use aac. That being said when I connect my iPhone to the k9 pro via usb I get dsd (green led) 24bit, 96 kHz max playback from Amazon music.

Connected my win11 PC to the k9pro ess thru an optical input and keep getting half second gap pauses in my music playback from Youtube, any advice?

I had a similar experience. I reached out to Fiio support. They sent me a firmware update file. After updating the firmware the issue went away.

For your opinion this DAC compared to others present low listening fatigue?

I don’t find it fatiguing at all. But I believe that would have more to do with the headphones or IEMs you’re using.

Does is accept alac from iphones or just flac?

I think the answer to this depends on whether you're sending source material from your iPhone over Bluetooth, in which case the codec used will transmit AAC, or you're connecting your phone directly via, say, USB in which the music app or media player would decode the original format (i.e., MP3, AAC, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, etc.) and send PCM (or DSD or MQA) to the DAC.
