Question : Is this speaker waterproof?
Answer : Yes, the JBL Flip 5 has an IPX7 waterproof rating.
Question : How long does the battery last?
Answer : The battery can last for more than 12 hours of playtime.
Question : Can I connect multiple speakers to create a bigger sound?
Answer : Yes, you can link multiple JBL party boost-compatible speakers to create a bigger party.
Question : Is it loud enough to be heard on a boat?
Answer : If you're parked at a sandbar and place it on the dash you can hear it well outside the boat, that's how we use ours and it saves our boat battery. If you're cruising at low speed you can still hear it but its not that enjoyable, and at faster speeds the engine and wind noise will drown it out, hope that helps.
Question : Can you take calls from this speakers and talk?
Answer : No, this speaker does not include a microphone. The JBL flip 4 did but the 5 no longer includes this feature.
Question : Can I answer my phone with this speaker?
Answer : I'm with JVF here...one of the reason I chose this model, is it doesn't. My current speaker does, and it half pi_ses me off, every time a call comes in, cuts the music out (then I fumble to turn off the BT on my phone so I can answer the call, without everyone within 100ft ease dropping). Thanks JBL!!!
Question : Is there a clever way to connect this to my TV as if it were a soundbar?
Answer : The Flip 5 will connect to your mobile phone, desktop, laptop, and tablet. As far as connecting to a TV may I suggest you look into the JBL 2.0 soundbar All-in-One so there's no lagging when you're watching your TV.

Question : Which one is better flip5 or charge3
Answer : Melanie The flip 5 and charge 3 are about the same I think you can answer phone calls on the charge 3 I'm not sure. Other than that in my opinion the flip 5 is better because it's the upgrade and despite the fact that you can't take calls with it, And I think it's a tad louder than the charge 3. It comes with the USB C cable I've had issues with other speakers that come with a USB micro cable. The micro jacks on a lot of cheaper speakers tend to loosen up over time per charge and are harder to connect.
Question : Is this the tl or the gg model?
Answer : Thanks for reaching out. Our JBL Flip 5 comes in both Teal and Grey colors.
Question : Do these have tws to pare two together??
Answer : Our JBL Flip 5 has the 'Partyboost' feature which enables it to connect with another Flip 5 for stereo sound or link multiple JBL PartyBoost-compatible speakers to create a bigger party. The Flip 5 will only link up with JBL Portable Speakers that have the same Partyboost function, such as JBL Flip 5, the Boombox 2, the JBL Pulse 4, Charge 5, and Flip 6.
Question : Can the flip 5 be paired with a JBL flip 3 ?
Answer : You cannot connect any Flip 4 or Flip 3 to the Flip 5 as it uses partyboost and not connect plus like the 4/3 use.
Question : Trade in value am I trade an older model in against this new one?
