My 21" bar has a blunt edge on it, as well. I agree with what your concern is on small openings. 9" bar is small, but I would file it down. Great tool to have!

Definitely is hardened. Composition of the metal is unknown. And Yes. It is stamped with USA on the bar. Overall, an excellent pry bar to own.
