I didn't think the necklace looked bad. The earrings are nice looking, but I wasn't disappointed in the necklace.

I really would not recommend you buy this. It will disappoint you.

What type of metal is the setting?

I make jewelry - it does not say anywhere what the setting is - I assume it is base metal with stainless hooks. :)
