Question : Is this going to make me smell like a night club, or is it more of a subtle scent? At this price I just want to make sure the smell is tasteful.
Answer : I appreciate the range of reviews. And it IS possible for each experience to be accurate, beyond the subjective questions when it comes to scents. There are guys well into their 60s that have never gotten out of those ‘Polo Days’ when they couldn’t figure out that LESS IS MORE! Beyond that this question of ‘overpowering’ rests on your own body and things like pH levels. Back in the days when I wore cologne, I learned to spray it on my clothes rather than my skin because the smell would dissipate completely within an hour at most, with those around me confirming as much, whereas a buddy would use the same amount and he’d be overpowering for days. Also I noticed I’d feel lightheaded if I put cologne on my skin. As both a primary care physician and a chemistry teacher mentioned, my skin is more porous than most most men’s, and the alcohol was hitting - I admit I don’t remember this part exactly - my blood stream cuz I would get a bit inebriated. My partner (and most of my previous casual FWBs fall into this preference pattern) won’t go near me if he so much as smells/tastes obvious deodorant on me, let alone some trashy OTC overly scented soap product - without TMI, often our natural scents/musk are much more alluring to our partners than those scents being covered too much it at all, by intrusive fake perfumes. But sometimes I need to smell something else on me than Dial Gold (which BTW is one of the most chemical free, pleasant to all noses commercial soaps on the mkt), Method Men Sea & Surf, and regular Jack Black. In summary, it simply depends on 1. Your body chemistry 2. Your partner(s’) preference(s). This has been a win for us. The scent compliments my own scent instead of clashing with it, (more so than even the regular Jack Black), and there’s no residue on the skin when your guy or gal goes to kiss your neck and…… ;) Enjoy.
