Question : It wont let me save a 8.5"x14" color doc to pdf because it says the capture image is too large. is there a way to reduct size without lowering rez?
Answer : My FastFoto User Guide says you can scan "Panoramic photos between 12.1 and 36 inches (307.3 and 914.4 mm)" long, but only one at a time. I have found that if a photo is too thick, it refuses to scan, no matter the length. Have you tried using the plastic carrier sheet with the photo loaded correctly for a document (not photo) scan? Another idea is to try to scan it as a photo, not a document, if the resulting JPG file and not a PDF would work for you. You could also then convert the resulting JPG to PDF in Preview if you are a Mac user or something else in Windows. My only other suggestion is to disconnect/turn off/turn on the scanner and try again, perhaps several times. I have had good luck with this scanner for thousands of photos and documents of various sizes, but occasionally it gets cranky for unknown reasons.
Question : How do I scan a document that is larger than 80 pages Do I scan it in two batches and then does the printer software allow me to combine the 2 files?
Answer : You can load up to 100 pages into the FF-680W ADF and once they have scanned, you can load more pages and click the +Scan button in the ScanSmart application to add more pages to the batch. Continue using +Scan to scan more batches and then click Next to save all the scanned pages to a PDF. - The Epson Scanner Team
