They are a pretty tight fit. There's some space for smaller files, but not enough room for anything larger.

Most of them are made by Pferd in Germany, while some are made in Czech Republic.

Are any of the files single cut or are they all double cut? Can they be used as medium fine (not coarse) files?

My Pferd files are double cut. Depending on the angle of attack, they can be used as medium and fine files. The angle of the file stroke in relation to the piece being filed determines the effect. They can remove a lot of material or provide a fine finish.
