How do you attach this? Do I put it on top of the damaged faux fur from drier? Do I try to remove the original faux fur? Recommendations?

I took off the old fur from strip with buttons. Took a long time and hair everywhere. Then fastened new faux fur strip. Very important to shake to fluff it up.

Would I be able to attach this to a hood that did not originally have fur attached?

Absolutely. The fur is attached using buttons sewn to the hood. The fur has loops that attach to the buttons.

Can the piece be sewn into a detachable hood?

The fur trim has pre-sewn elastic loops and comes with a separate packet of color corresponding buttons. It can be easily removed when washing the jacket.

Does this fold over, attaching to inside and outside of hoods?

Hello, you sew buttons on the inside and outside of your hood, back to back, in the same spot and attach the fur trim with the loops to the buttons. That way the fur wraps around the edge of the hood.

Why are there loops on both sides of the piece?

There are buttons for all the loops. You sew the buttons on the bottom and top of the collar. It makes it puffy and more realistic.

Wondering if xs has 9 loops? We are trying loops on existing snaps on North Face jacket.

Size Small has 18 loops, 9 from each side. Best regards, Andrew

How far from the hood edge do you sew the buttons? At the edge? An inch and 5/8 in?

The centers of the buttons are approximately 1/2" in from the edge of the hood.

Would this work on a Columbia jacket?

The fur trim is shipped with buttons that are to sew on and should work on any material. Just measure the area you want to cover.
