I just found out that a 4 in grinding cup is shallower than a 7 in. Dust Shroud and original grinder shield inhibit the cup grinding flat. Right?

Also dust shroud and grinder shield are designed according to the height and with of the tool. You have to use different shrouds for 4" and 7". It is general. Thanks.

Will this work on my rough bumpy concrete patio with flaking top paint,and older paint underneath that is rubber like?

If the paint is not too much thick, you will be satisfied with this product.

Will this grind aluminum?

No, it will not. This is for grinding concrete, stone etc and removing paint, mastic etc.

The product is not recommended for grinding aluminum. Customer experience and reception of this product have been generally positive.
