G&R nailed it. I just stumbled onto this and this is a perfect gift for some of my Lord of the Ring fans. I hope they still have them in there.

Doubtful unless it is a tiny novelty pen. There is a small hole that is offset so nothing as ridged as a pen can be inserted. That said, this piece is amazing. Very heavy and solid. Combination is super easy to change. This really is a quality piece.

Does it come with the code separately or do I have to open it up to get the code?

It has an initial password: ILOVEU, you can set your own password after opening it, and then provide clues for another person to guess the password to open it.

What is the codex’s dimensions?

It was a good 8 inches long about 2 1/2 to 3 inches diameter. We used as a graduation gift and put cash in it. Letting him suffer a bit longer since he hasnt figured out the code yet even with clues....lol its a great item would highly rec

There are two strings with claw fasteners. What are these for? I don't see a place to attach them.

Does it have the weird looking Lord of the Ring rings inside of it once you open it or is there nothing inside of it?

I don’t know your reference to lord of the rings never watch the movie. The cylinder inside is hollow with a heart-shaped opening in the middle to see in. it’s actually a really nice piece I put my wife’s anniversary ring in there and gave it to her she loves puzzles she said it was 100 times better than a standard ring box for a surprise.

What level is this puzzle?

Gave it to my 12-year-old with money in it. I would say 10 years and up to adult. You can set your own code in it and make up a riddle or clue for the recipient to open. It already has a code set and I left it as is. The 12-year-old got it right off because my clue was too easy.

Hi! can one choose the size of the rings?

I never found a place to choose sizes. I was buying the box more than the rings. The rings are nice and look just like the pictures. I believe in mine one ring was a 7 and the other an 11.

Is it possible to have the puzzle delivered with a different password?

The puzzle will deliver with the same password. You can change manually it once it arrives though, but I don’t think you can change it before it’s delivered.
